Ward Clerk - The Caludon Centre - Sherbourne PICU Ward

37.5 hours per week

Band 2

We are looking to recruit to a Ward Clerk position at The Caludon Centre supporting our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on one of our Acute Mental Health In-patient Male Wards.

The post-holder will be required to work as part of an integrated and skill mixed team, providing effective and efficient admin support to the ward, Mainly supporting the Ward Manager and ward staff.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for individuals with a positive approach who will be able to build effective working relationships and who will be flexible in their outlook. You will need to be able to multi-task and work autonomously but also as part of a team.

Computer skills will be required as duties will include data inputting, collating data information, ordering equipment, food and general supplies. You will also be taking timely and accurate messages, sendinge-mails, scanning documents, keeping up-to-date patient records, patient records tracking, sorting the post and deliveries. Full training will be provided for systems used, e.g. Carenotes (patient system), Loop, Tracking, etc.

Person Specification

Knowledge Essential

Good communication / customer care skills both written and verbal demonstrating sympathy and compassion Understand confidentiality and apply the principles in every day working practice Ability to pay attention to detail where there are predictable interruptions to the work pattern

Experience Essential

Experience of working in Mental Health Services/setting Experience of working in a patient facing role Experience of working in a busy office / customer care environment

Qualifications Essential

Good General Education (eg. GCSE English and Maths AC)

Work effectively and flexibly as part of a team to meet the needs of the services
