WRS has an immediate opening for a Field Observation Specialist - QA/QC Oversight (Solar Construction). This role has 2 Phases with different locations.
Phase 1 (now through Thanksgiving): Battle Butte Solar - Columbus, Montana.
Phase 2 (Thanksgiving through mid-March): Appaloosa Solar - Pomeroy, Washington, supporting QA/QC during the Montana site's seasonal winter shutdown.

Your Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day field oversight and documentation of civil construction, pile driving, mechanical installation, and underground wire installation to confirm the work conforms to project plans and specifications
• Oversee compaction testing and concrete testing and placement activities, coordinating with third-party testing agencies as needed
• Read and interpret civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering plans and drawings
• Communicate and coordinate with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and project management to identify issues early and help keep the project moving forward smoothly
• Prepare clear, accurate daily observation reports and QA/QC documentation, and promptly flag non-conformances or schedule risks
• Transition to the Appaloosa Solar project (Pomeroy, WA) to support QA/QC functions during the Montana site’s seasonal shutdown
Note: This is an oversight and documentation role – it does not involve hands-on construction work.
Your Experience & Qualifications
• Prior experience in construction observation, QA/QC, or field engineering – solar or heavy-civil project experience preferred
• Working knowledge of civil, pile driving, mechanical, and underground electrical installation practices, including compaction and concrete testing standards
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, contractors, and multiple levels of management
• Willingness to relocate/travel between the Columbus, MT and Pomeroy, WA project sites per the schedule above
• Valid driver’s license
• Willing to train the right person
