GIS TECHNICIAN Landmark Solutions Ltd. (Landmark) is seeking a GIS Technician to join our team. This role offers opportunities to grow within our Natural Resources Department and support other areas of Landmark's business.

WHAT YOU WILL DO As a GIS Technician within Landmark's Natural Resources Department, you will provide mapping, spatial-data management and technical GIS support for forestry, natural-resource and environmental projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Create and update maps, figures and other GIS deliverables for forestry, natural-resource and environmental projects. • Organize, maintain and quality-check spatial datasets, geodatabases and project files. • Compile, edit and process spatial data from field crews, clients and other sources. • Perform spatial queries, geoprocessing and data conversions to support project planning and operations. • Download, process and manage GPS/GNSS, LiDAR, aerial imagery and other field-collected geospatial data. • Prepare mapping and data packages for internal teams, clients and project reporting. • Support forestry projects, including timber development, road and operational planning, as well as environmental, ecosystem-restoration and other Landmark projects. • Work collaboratively with project managers and technical staff, maintain GIS standards and workflows, and manage multiple assignments and deadlines with accuracy.
SPECIFIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE • Diploma, certificate or post-secondary education in GIS, geomatics, geography, natural-resource management or a related discipline preferred; equivalent education, training and experience will be considered. • Minimum two years of relevant professional GIS experience; forestry experience is an asset. • Strong knowledge of GIS principles, spatial data, coordinate systems and data quality. • Strong data-management, organizational, problem-solving and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage changing priorities independently. • The following are not mandatory but would be considered an asset: o Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap and Python scripting. o Experience with Land Resource Manager (LRM) or similar forestry information-management systems.
