Here is what the role looks like:
The OSP Lead is responsible for creating an inspiring team environment and providing an open communication culture. The Lead will provide daily supervision, delegate tasks and ensure industry and company best practices are adhered to safeguard the efficient and consistent delivery of OSP construction objectives. The OSP Lead will work closely with OSP Supervisor and Manager to deliver the timely execution of construction projects using a team of resources to ensure an on-time completion. The successful candidate is expected to work with OSP leadership in establishing and carrying out operational priorities. Duties include project oversight, such as project progress reporting, time and attendance reporting, guidance to staff and problem identification and resolution. Candidate will motivate team members by modeling company Values and provide purpose to the staff they lead. The position will report to the OSP Supervisor.
• Team Management: Lead the team members, including FST I, FST II, FST III, tradespeople, and subcontractors. Assign tasks, provide guidance and instructions, and ensure that work is carried out efficiently and according to project plans and specifications.
• Quality Control: Monitor and enforce quality standards throughout the project. Conduct inspections, review workmanship, and ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and project specifications. Take corrective actions when necessary to maintain high-quality standards.
• Safety Oversight: Promote and enforce a safe working environment for all personnel on the project site. Implement safety protocols and procedures, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure safety regulations and practices are always followed.
• Communication: Serve as a point of contact and maintain effective communication with various stakeholders, including supervisors, project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients through the various types of communication mediums such as written communication (emails, letters, memos, formal documents, etc.) and electronic communication (utilizing electronic devices and technology. This includes emails, instant messaging, social media platform, etc.) Provide regular progress updates, address concerns, and facilitate collaboration and coordination among team members.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve work-related issues and challenges that may arise during the project. Analyze problems, propose solutions, and make informed decisions to maintain project progress and overcome obstacles.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project activities, including daily reports, work logs, progress reports, closeouts and asbuilts/change orders. Prepare and submit reports to supervisor/ project managers or clients as required.
• Leadership and Mentoring: Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Mentor and train team members, promoting their professional development, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their tasks effectively, and motivating team members by modeling company values.
• Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure that work is completed within budgetary constraints.

Here’s what you need to have:
• Minimum HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance
• Must be able to work any shift and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary to meet the needs and goals of the business.
• 3+ years of experience in telecommunications construction.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Must have a strong understanding of telecommunications technologies.
• Ability to understand/follow directions and take instructions.
• Prior leadership experience recommended.
• Possesses Confined space entry certification.
• Knowledge of OSP Construction standards, principles, methods, material, practices, tools and equipment.
• Ability to read, understand and/or interpret telecommunication jargon following project drawings, designs, and specifications.
• Must possess a valid Guam Driver’s License and be willing to travel to various locations to meet business needs.
