About this role

Short Summary of the Position

The Training Captain is responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical, simulator and operational training to flight crew in accordance with Global Airways’ approved training programmes, SOPs, policies and standards. Reporting to the Chief Training Captain, the role requires an experienced A320 Captain with strong instructional ability, excellent technical and operational knowledge, and the professionalism to set the standard for other crew members.

The Training Captain must be able to instruct objectively and consistently, ensuring that Global Airways procedures and SOPs are taught without personal preference or deviation, while promoting the Company’s safety culture, operational standards and values.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly professional A320 Training Captain to join our Flight Operations Training team.

Reporting to the Chief Training Captain, the successful candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining the knowledge, skills and operational standards of our flight crew. The position requires exceptional A320 technical and operational knowledge, strong instructional capability, and the ability to consistently teach and demonstrate Global Airways SOPs, policies and procedures. The successful candidate will also be required to apply for designation as a Designated Flight Examiner (DFE) with the SACAA as soon as possible after the required Training Captain Initial Course is completed as well as re-designation every year.

As a Training Captain, you will be expected to lead by example, maintaining a high level of personal discipline, professionalism and operational excellence while promoting the Company’s safety culture and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver ground, simulator and operational training in accordance with approved Company training programmes.

• Conduct area, route and aerodrome familiarisation training.

• Deliver APT training, including flows and procedures, type rating and refresher/requalification training.

• Conduct FBS training, including recurrent and low visibility training.

• Deliver FFS training across approved training programmes.

• Conduct type rating and Zero Flight Time Training (ZFTT)/base training, where applicable.

• Conduct Pilot Proficiency Check (PPC) preparation and associated proficiency training as authorised.

• Provide maintaining and regaining recency training.

• Conduct right-seat qualification and takeover training.

• Deliver refresher and requalification training.

• Conduct UPRT where appropriately qualified.

• Deliver low visibility and other specialised training as required.

• Ensure Global Airways SOPs, policies and procedures are taught consistently and without personal preference.

• Promote the Company's operational, safety and professional standards throughout all training activities.

• Provide constructive, objective and professional feedback to flight crew.

• Maintain the high personal and professional standards expected of a Training Captain.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Current and valid Global Airways A320 Captain with a minimum of 12 months' experience as Captain.

• Valid Grade I or Grade II Flight Instructor Rating.

• Valid Multi-Engine Flight Instructor Endorsement.

• Strong technical and operational knowledge of the Airbus A320.

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Global Airways SOPs and operational procedures.

• Good performance record across Company assessments.

• Willingness and ability to successfully complete the Global Airways Training Captain Course.

Advantageous:

• Current or previous Global Airways A320 Line Training Captain qualification/experience.

• 500 hours or more of flight instruction time.

• Airbus Type Specific flight instruction time on simulator and aircraft.

• Judgement & Decision-Making Applies sound operational judgement, remains composed under pressure and makes appropriate, safety-focused decisions while maintaining training and operational standards.
