Position Purpose
To ensure the correct label is ALWAYS properly applied to the corresponding bag and follow the labeling schedule for the current Packaging Plan and ensure properly labeled bags are available when needed.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED
• Proficient with basic computer skills and printers
• Excellent reading and comprehension skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to teach and train others
Must be willing to work mandatory overtime, weekends and different shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities
The fulfillment of these core responsibilities is achieved through the completion of the following tasks:
• Obtain the current labelling plan from Shift Leader. Plan must include:
• Labeling sequence
• Indication of which bag requires labels
• Type of label
• Special stickers to be applied if applicable and necessary
• Assign Label Operator a work station (table) and record Name, Date and time on the work station Sticker Verification Log Form.
• Label Coordinator has to verify that the work station is clear from any bags and/or labels prior to assigning the station to a label operator.
• Hand over a defined number of bags and matching labels to each table and record the number of unstickered bags into the Sticker Verification Log.
• Once Label Operator has labelled all the assigned bags, they will communicate the completion of their task to the Label Coordinator WITHOUT leaving their working station.
• Label Coordinator will verify the accuracy of the job by checking that all the assigned bags have been properly labeled and will record the final number of labelled bags. Label Coordinator will then move all the labelled bags to the dedicated and previously positioned pallet.
• Label coordinator will hand over additional bags and corresponding labels to be applied next and record the number and type on the Sticker Verification Log form
• Label Coordinator has to make sure that at any time no cell phones or any other potential source of distractions are present at the work stations.
• Once the scheduled amount of bags has been labelled and placed on a pallet, Label Coordinator will place a note on the pallet, indicating label code, quantity and physical inventory location.
• If, at the end of the run, any bags remaining will be brought back to the Label Coordinator for placement into the correct box.
• Label Coordinator will communicate with forklift operator to promptly put the box back to the correct shelf location.
• Label Coordinator shall ensure that, at any given time, only the boxes being used are present on the floor.
• Label Operator at NO time will retrieve their own bags and/or stickers
