Position Overview
As a Textbook Coordinator, you will support the day-to-day operations of the textbook department within the campus store, working under the direction of the Textbook Manager. This role is key to ensuring students have timely access to required learning materials and that faculty receive responsive, high-quality service. You will help manage adoption collection, inventory tasks, and communications with academic departments and publishers.
What you will be doing
• Assist in collecting and organizing textbook adoption information for order placement.
• Correspond with faculty members and publishers on routine book order questions and updates.
• Support day-to-day bookstore operations, including inventory tasks such as receiving, shelving, and preparing returns.
• Help coordinate with department chairs and faculty to collect, confirm, and track textbook adoptions each term.
• Monitor adoption submissions and flag upcoming or missed campus deadlines to the Textbook Manager, helping ensure Day 1 access to materials.
• Communicate with publishers and vendors to confirm order details, pricing, and delivery timelines.
• Assist with processing returns to vendors in line with established return policies and timelines.
• Serve as a frontline point of contact for textbook-related inquiries from faculty and students, escalating complex issues to the Textbook Manager as needed.
• Help build and maintain positive working relationships with academic staff.
• Maintain accurate records related to sales, costs, and inventory counts.
• Stay informed of basic compliance requirements and trends in campus retail.
What we are looking for
Must have:
• Some experience in a retail, customer service, or administrative support role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a results-driven team embedded in the campus community.
• Comfortable using computers and standard software.
Good to have:
• 1+ years of retail or customer service experience.
• Previous textbook, bookstore, or campus store experience is a plus.
