About this role

The Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of AT-RISK International’s clients and internal security and protection operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position provides operational coordination, project support, research, logistics, compliance tracking, and administrative support across the Operations department. The role serves as a flexible resource to increase departmental capacity and support effective delivery of client engagements.

The Operations Specialist will assist with partner management, protective personnel sourcing, travel and operational logistics, credentialing and vetting, special projects, and general Operations and Executive Protection support. The position will work closely with Operations Managers, department leadership, protective personnel, partners, clients, and internal stakeholders to verify operational requirements are organized, communicated, and executed effectively. The role may also provide remote, on-call, and in-person support for client engagements, events, and other operational requirements, with domestic and international travel anticipated.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with competing priorities. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams. DUTIES

OPERATIONS & PROTECTIVE SUPPORT

• Provide operational, protective, logistical, and risk mitigation support for AT-RISK International client engagements and internal operations as assigned.

• Support the planning, coordination, and execution of Executive Protection, secure transportation, and other protective operations.

• Conduct, monitor, and participate in protective assignments as required.

• Coordinate staffing requirements for protective operations, including research, sourcing, scheduling, and coordination of protection personnel and operational partners.

• Manage and maintain the company’s partner roster, including capabilities, geographic coverage, availability, credentials, and other relevant operational information.

• Conduct ongoing partner outreach and support the development and maintenance of operational relationships with partners and vendors.

• Support the research, sourcing, vetting, hiring, and onboarding of protective personnel and operational resources.

• Conduct and support advance work and prepare operational briefings, materials, and recommendations for protective teams and clients.

• Coordinate and communicate operational requirements with clients, partners, protective personnel, and internal stakeholders before, during, and after assignments.

• Provide remote operational support outside of normal business hours, including nights and weekends, as required to monitor active operations, address issues, and coordinate resources.

• Participate in AT-RISK International’s on-call rotation as required.

• Provide general Operations and Executive Protection ad-hoc and overflow support during periods of increased operational demand.

• Support surveillance or other investigative-related operations when required by client or operational needs.

• Assist with security assessments, risk mitigation activities, and other consulting or operational projects as assigned.

• Conduct operational research and support process improvement initiatives.

• Assist with the development and implementation of operational processes, procedures, resources, and documentation.

• Support special projects and other initiatives as assigned by Operations leadership.

TRAVEL & OPERATIONAL LOGISTICS

• Support travel planning and associated operational logistics for clients, protective personnel, and Operations staff.

• Coordinate transportation, lodging, itineraries, staffing, equipment, and other logistical requirements.

• Assist with domestic and international advance planning and operational preparation.

• Provide in-person operational and client-facing support at events, meetings, and client engagements as required.

• Coordinate with internal departments, clients, partners, vendors, and field personnel to verify operational requirements are communicated and executed effectively.

• Prepare cost estimates, operational documentation, expense information, and invoice-related support as part of operational management.

LICENSING, CREDENTIALING & COMPLIANCE

• Support the management of AT-RISK International’s multi-state security licensing requirements and compliance obligations.

• Assist with the collection, verification, and maintenance of required documentation and credentials.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to support continued compliance with applicable licensing and regulatory requirements.

• Maintain accurate and confidential records related to licensing, credentialing, vetting, and compliance.

COMMUNICATIONS & CLIENT SUPPORT

• Establish and maintain productive working relationships with clients, protective personnel, partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

• Support client satisfaction by ensuring operational requirements are understood, communicated, and addressed in a timely manner.

• Maintain appropriate liaison with client security teams, local officials, law enforcement, public safety agencies, and other external stakeholders when directed.

• Assist with client meetings, operational briefings, after-action discussions, and other client-facing activities.

• Support business development initiatives and assist with identifying opportunities for future operational support when appropriate.

ADMINISTRATIVE & OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Perform administrative and operational functions in accordance with company policies, procedures, and established standards.

• Assist Operations Managers and department leadership with administrative and project-based workload as needed.

• Maintain accurate project records, operational documentation, timekeeping, expenses, and files.

• Assist with project tracking, deliverables, follow-up, and other administrative requirements.

• Support the development of presentations, reports, proposals, briefing materials, and other internal and external deliverables.

• Utilize company-designated systems for project, partner, personnel, and information management.

• Safeguard sensitive, confidential, and client-specific information.

• Provide administrative and logistical support to Operations leadership and other company leaders as assigned.

• Attend industry-related training events, conferences, seminars, and meetings as appropriate to maintain and develop professional knowledge and operational expertise.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of five years of relevant experience in Executive Protection, protective operations, corporate security, law enforcement, military operations, security operations, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience supporting protective operations, advance work, secure transportation, protective staffing, or security logistics.

• Experience coordinating personnel, partners, vendors, or operational resources.

• Experience in a client-facing security or protective services environment is highly preferred.

• Experience with security licensing, credentialing, regulatory compliance, or operational recordkeeping is preferred.

• Experience conducting operational research, supporting process improvement, or managing special projects is preferred.

• Active security, law enforcement, military, Executive Protection, or related professional certifications are highly desired.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Education: A bachelor’s degree is highly desired.

• Professional Certifications: ASIS CPP, PCI, or PSP is highly desired.

• The job may require standing, sitting, and moving for extended periods. Exposure to extreme environmental conditions may occur occasionally.

• Travel for this role is estimated at approximately 30-50%, based on client needs, operational tempo, internal company requirements, and participation in conferences or events. Travel expectations may vary.
