About this role
A-Line E.D.S., Inc. is looking for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join our Maintenance Team. In this role, you’ll work alongside our maintenance team and under the direction of the Welder Fabricator Lead to build, weld, repair, and maintain company-owned equipment and machinery.
What You'll Do
• Weld, fabricate, and repair company-owned equipment, machinery, and components.
• Read and follow job instructions, specifications, drawings, and measurements.
• Gather and prepare the appropriate tools, materials, and equipment for each job.
• Cut and prepare materials using powered saws, grinders, and other hand or power tools.
• Measure, align, and secure components using rulers, calipers, squares, clamps, and other tools.
• Perform manual and semi-automatic welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Repair machinery and components by welding pieces, filling gaps, and reinforcing damaged areas.
• Inspect welds and finished work to identify defects and ensure quality.
• Monitor welding, burning, and fitting processes to prevent overheating, warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
• Perform pipe fitting, including measuring, cutting, grooving, threading, and assembling pipes and valves.
• Assist with building, facility, and grounds maintenance as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required:
• Proven experience as a welder with experience using a variety of welding equipment and techniques.
• Strong understanding of welding machines, tools, equipment, maintenance, and repair.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as saws, grinders, squares, calipers, and other electrical or manual tools.
• Ability to accurately read measurements and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work safely while wearing required PPE, including face shields, gloves, and other protective equipment.
Preferred:
• Welding certification and/or completion of a welding apprenticeship program.
• Experience reading blueprints, technical drawings, or fabrication plans.
• Experience with pipe fitting and equipment repair.
• Own welding/fabrication tools and storage.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Use precise hand movements and manual dexterity for detailed work.
• See and distinguish details at close range.
• Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Climb, balance, bend, stoop, walk, carry, and navigate around equipment and machinery.
• Work around heavy equipment and in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Working Conditions
This is a hands-on industrial position with exposure to:
• Extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, and other outdoor conditions.
• Loud noise and heavy vibration.
• Dust, exhaust fumes, and various hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Industrial equipment, machinery, and active work areas.
