Job summary
This is an opportunity for a consultant to join the GI Endoscopy team at Mid and South Essex NHS Trust to support our expanding workforce and contribute to the development of our large Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).
The role will specialise in all aspects of luminal GI endoscopy including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and EMR.
An interest in Bowel Cancer Screening would be advantageous.
Some weekend and cross site working within Mid and South Essex will be expected in line with job plan discussions.
Main duties of the job
You will work alongside the established endoscopists to support provision of endoscopy services in line with JAG standards.
You will be expected to perform independent endoscopy lists, train other endoscopists and support clinical governance duties within endoscopy including vetting and triage of referrals, clinical audit and other duties in line with the MSE endoscopy strategy.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake teaching duties of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff and other professional groups (such as nursing and pharmacy).

Qualifications Essential
MBBS or Equivalent & GMC (2) Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of training (CCT) at time of interview
Experience Essential
Minimum 6 years ST experience after FY1 and FY2
Desirable
Consultant experience Gastroenterology consultant experience
Training Essential
