This is a rare opportunity to join our dispensing team in Fairford, and to support our excellent dispensing services to our patients in Fairford, in collaboration with the Dispensing team and dispensary manager.
You will need to be well-organised, motivated, and prepared to continually develop your dispensing skills to support the Dispensary Manager and Practice Manager and our fabulous and hard-working dispensing team.
This opportunity to work in Primary Care in a busy and exciting practice should not be missed.
Main duties of the job
Your duties will involve supporting the Dispensary manager, and the Dispensing team, in all aspects of dispensing at Hilary Cottage Surgery.
You will help to ensure that dispensing practices are continually monitored, developed and managed to a high standard.
You will manage orders and deliveries, drug audits and drug disposals, patient correspondence and other patient interactions, as well as supporting the dispensing team and its operations on a day-to-day basis.

We are in Fairford - a small rural town in Gloucestershire, close to the Oxfordshire and Wiltshire borders.
We are a friendly supportive team of around 40 people.
Hilary Cottage Surgery has been a part of the Fairford community for many years - currently run by 3 GP partners.
We are a small rural practice with around 7600 patients. We have 7 amazing GPs, a bunch of amazing admin staff and secretaries, and a brilliant reception team. Our nurse team is fabulous, and there aren't enough superlatives to describe our incredible dispensing team, supported by our super pharmacists.
If you're not in Fairford, you would enjoy a short rural drive to and from the surgery - and if you are local you can walk to work.

Job description Job responsibilities
This job is for 2x6 hour days, Monday and Thursday. Start time subject to discussion. Requires occasional "late" working to 6:30pm to cover holiday and sickness.
In addition to other items noted in this ad, you will:
Attend/Manage team meetings
Work with DSQS and ensure all dispensing practices are compliant with DSQS requirements, and support DSQS audits
Support the team with stock control processes and ordering
Monitor and manage expenditure
Managing MHRA alerts
Supporting the management of repeat prescription processes
Managing and recording dispensing errors
Supporting patients with questions and offering appropriate advice to patients
Manage ongoing development of dispensary policies
Advise the Practice Manager and Dispensary Manager of potential for improvement in practices and profitability
Person Specification
Experience Essential
Experience working in a pharmacy or dispensing practice, or equivalent
Desirable
Team leader/management experience
Qualifications Essential
GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths. NVQ 2 in relevant pharmacy or dispensing related subjects
Desirable
NVQ 3 in relevant pharmacy or dispensing related subjects Team Leader or team management experience. Knowledge of TPP SystmOne Customer/patient facing experience. Microsoft Office Suite. Primary Care dispensing experience
