You will work on the origination and execution of lead advisory mandates in the mid-market, specialising in Energy. You will help clients achieve their strategic objectives when buying or selling a company, from the initial strategic review through to successful completion. The business has significant growth ambitions, through continued deep sector expertise and delivering the highest quality deal execution. • Senior and trusted client relationships across mid-market and global companies, new strategic entrants, financial investors and leading entrepreneurs • An enviable set of market credentials across each of KPMG’s major service lines • A diverse skill set and deep sector expertise spanning across all sectors What will you be doing? • Manage M&A projects (with support from and reporting into Associate Director/ Director / Partner) including being the day to day point of contact for clients. • Actively managing client interfaces taking responsibility for managing all phases of the transaction cycle and deal execution. • Leading and managing the delivery of marketing documentation, as well as pitch materials and client proposals • Directing and managing junior colleagues, analysts and support staff on M&A transactions, including reviewing their work • Coaching and contributing to the development of junior team members • Set, monitor and control M&A project budgets, billing and other reporting requirements • Taking responsibility for, and proactively assisting business development efforts, including pitching for new work What will you need to do it? Essential skills • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues and market contacts • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence communicating complex financial and commercial matters clearly • Financial modelling experience, including LBO and DCF analysis • Strong numerical, analytical and strategic-thinking skills • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver to demanding timetables Experience and background • Significant transactional and deal execution experience across all phases of the deal lifecycle, from origination through to completion, particularly sell-side transactions • Relevant corporate finance experience gained within an investment bank, property consultancy, Big Four or mid-tier firm, or private equity firm • Ideally, experience advising clients or executing transactions in a non-regulated sector • Experience of working on transactions involving private equity is desirable • Personal drive and integrity, with the ability to deliver results within tight deadlines • A commitment to high-quality standards and a detail-oriented approach • An independent mindset, with the ability to identify problems and contribute to the development of solutions • Confidence discussing financially related commercial issues • A strong academic background • A personable and collaborative approach, with the ability to create confidence and trust with colleagues and clients Find out more: Within Deal Advisory we have a range of divisions and specialisms.
