About the role We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality, Health & Safety (QH&S) Coordinator to join our team in Port Moresby within the MS International business line. This role is essential in upholding and advancing the standards of quality, health, and safety, ensuring a work environment that is secure, compliant, and supportive for all employees and stakeholders of International SOS (Niugini) Limited. As the QH&S Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and overseeing QH&S policies and procedures that align with Papua New Guinea’s local regulations and international standards. Working collaboratively with multiple departments, you will champion a proactive culture focused on continuous improvement, rigorous risk management, and strict compliance with statutory obligations. The position is based in Port Moresby at our Munidubu Street location, and you will be expected to work closely with site teams and leadership to embed best practices and respond effectively to challenges in quality, health, and safety. Key responsibilities Coordinate and support implementation of comprehensive quality management systems, health and safety programmes, and environmental controls. Conduct frequent audits and site inspections to verify adherence to company protocols, legal mandates, and industry sector benchmarks. Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses; preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective measures to mitigate similar future occurrences. Develop, organise and facilitate training sessions and awareness initiatives to strengthen employee engagement and compliance with QH&S standards. Maintain meticulous documentation and records management for all QH&S activities, ensuring data integrity and availability for audits or compliance reviews. Collaborate closely with management and operational teams to identify potential hazards and deploy effective risk control strategies. Support emergency preparedness plans, ensuring all staff are trained in response procedures and operational continuity is maintained during incidents. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on QH&S performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities. About you We are looking for a motivated professional with proven experience in quality, health and safety coordination, ideally within Papua New Guinea or similar operational settings. Your familiarity with local laws, occupational health and safety standards, and quality management frameworks is critical. Excellent communication skills, coupled with strong organisational capabilities and a keen eye for detail, will enable you to engage effectively with diverse teams and promote a culture prioritising safe work practices. Certification in recognised quality systems such as ISO 9001 and health and safety qualifications like NEBOSH or IOSH will be advantageous. Proficiency in MS Office is essential to manage reporting and training documentation efficiently.
