About our group: The Edge IoT Consumer Solutions team is a global, cross-functional group within Seagate’s Edge IoT organization. Our team brings together product management, user experience, technical documentation, software, telemetry, marketing, engineering, validation, operations, and business stakeholders to define, develop, launch, and support consumer, creative professional, gaming, specialty, and edge storage solutions. We help guide products from early concept and roadmap planning through manufacturing, goto-market readiness, customer documentation, software experience, and post-launch optimization. Within the broader Seagate organization, our work helps amplify the Seagate brand with innovative storage solutions that unlock new use cases and drive high-capacity storage adoption at the edge. We collaborate globally across teams in the United States, Europe, and Asia, as well as with external technology, ecosystem, and channel partners, to ensure our products and experiences meet the needs of customers around the world. About the role - you will: As a Technical Writer Intern, the candidate will: Interview project stakeholders to become familiar with a product and its customers. Author documentation copy and collaborate with designers on illustrations and other images. Manage content reviews from stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs). Work with web services/creative services on document publication. Submit document revisions to source control. Acquire deep knowledge of Adobe FrameMaker, Madcap Flare, and web authoring as we establish a standard documentation process. Learn Seagate’s implementation of Copilot for use with document libraries in MadCap Flare. Research the application of AI and SEO in technical authoring and knowledge consumption. About you: Coursework in technical writing, electrical engineering, or computer science. Demonstrated writing and editing skills with attention to clarity, concision, and accuracy. Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams with competing deadlines. Accepts constructive feedback on work and deliverables. Coursework or personal understanding of AI workflows and agents. Your experience includes: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field and returning to school in Fall 2027. Familiarity with single source/multi-channel authoring apps, such as Madcap Flare or Adobe. FrameMaker or other. Experience with Microsoft, Google, open source, or Apple office apps are also welcome. Experience with HTML/CSS or an understanding of how it works. Experience with creative applications such as Adobe Creative Cloud or other graphics apps. Video editing experience. The estimated base wage range for this position is $24.00-26.00/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave. The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
