Post-Doctoral Research Fellow / Research Associate (26270147)
The Academy of Music (https://mus.hkbu.edu.hk/web/) has rapidly emerged as one of the leading institutions in Hong Kong, providing a rigorous music curriculum. The Academy is poised to significantly strengthen its capacity for nurturing the advancement of the creative arts with the completion of the Jockey Club Campus of Creativity, which provides resources for a wide array of creative arts disciplines.
We are seeking a highly experienced researcher for the position of Post-Doctoral Research Fellow / Research Associate.
Responsibilities:
• Support research in music education, creative arts practices, and children’s wellbeing, with a view to generating meaningful social and cultural impact through creative arts education; • Implement and evaluate project activities, including intervention refinement and evaluation, piloting and development of measurement tools, data collection, and quantitative and qualitative analyses; • Assist in preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and other academic publications, reports, and dissemination materials, as well as preparing new research initiatives and project proposals aligned with impactful research directions; • Provide administrative and logistical support for research activities, stakeholder engagement, and impact dissemination initiatives; • Coordinate and facilitate effective communication with project partners, collaborators, stakeholders, and the project team on research-related and project matters; and • Perform other duties as required and assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
• A recognised doctoral degree in music education, education studies, psychology, social sciences, or a related discipline; relevant post-qualification experience would be an advantage; • A strong record of scholarship, with evidence of relevant high-quality research outputs; • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, with solid experience in quantitative methodologies and competence in statistical analysis, including the use of standard software packages for data management and analysis; • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with a high level of self-motivation, a strong sense of responsibility, and meticulous attention to detail; • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines, and adapt to evolving project needs; • Strong commitment to quality education and research excellence, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment; and • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written / skills assessment.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to availability of funding and mutual agreement.
Applicants with less relevant work experience may be considered for appointment at the level of Research Associate.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
