Project Overview:
Bechtel's Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. Job Summary:
In this role, you will provide electrical field engineering support for assigned construction areas on a large, complex semiconductor project. You will assist superintendents and craft professionals with planning, material readiness, quantity verification, inspection, testing, field issue resolution, and turnover. You will review drawings and specifications, support Advanced Work Packaging and workface readiness, coordinate with construction, engineering, procurement, quality, project controls, startup, subcontractors, and client teams, and help ensure electrical work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. #LI-ME1
Major Responsibilities:
Provide electrical field engineering support for assigned construction areas, including planning, technical coordination, field issue resolution, inspection, testing, and turnover. Apply drawings, specifications, inspections, quality verification requirements, and subcontract requirements to assigned field activities. Prepare quantity listings for field-purchased material and equipment and initiate requisitions for field purchases as needed. Review construction drawings and schedules, verify temporary construction facility requirements, and support preparation of as-built drawings and job plans. Assist superintendents and Craft Professionals with interpreting design drawings, monitoring equipment installation, planning material delivery, and ensuring proper warehousing and storage for environmental protection. Review specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals, and technical data; coordinate with engineering design on constructability issues. Support subcontractor work efforts, routine subcontract changes, client interfaces, construction estimates, cost engineering studies, schedules, budgets, and resource planning for assigned construction activities. Support Advanced Work Packaging, workface readiness, material readiness, progress reporting, installed quantity verification, quality documentation, punch list closure, turnover of completed electrical systems, and project environmental, safety & health, quality, cost, and schedule goals.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Typically requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Technical knowledge of electrical engineering discipline, electrical construction methods, materials, installation practices, testing, inspection, turnover requirements, cost, scheduling, and/or contracts administration for heavy industrial or commercial facilities. Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, specifications, models, vendor information, quality requirements, project procedures, and subcontract requirements. Experience with field engineering, Advanced Work Packaging, workface planning, work package development, quantity tracking, progress reporting, completions, punch list, material management, and turnover support. Knowledge and understanding of Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) requirements, Bechtel Core Processes, Bechtel Business Ethics policies, and Bechtel's Zero Accidents safety program.
