As a Fund Servicing Manager (AVP) within the JP Morgan Fund Accounting Team, you are responsible for the day-to-day production, validation and delivery of financial statements of accounts and Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations for a group of funds.
Job responsibilities:
Produce daily and periodic net asset value (NAV) calculations and fund accounting outputs in line with agreed deliverables and controlsMaintain accurate accounting books and securities records for assigned funds, including positions, trades, pricing, income, and expensesPerform position and cash reconciliations, investigate breaks, and resolve exceptions within defined tolerances and timelinesResearch valuation variances and unusual items, documenting rationale and supporting evidence for review and audit readinessEscalate issues promptly and appropriately when impacts, control breaches, or deadline risks are identifiedReconcile capital activity and capital flows as applicable to the portfolioReconcile forward foreign exchange contracts and support accurate accounting and valuation treatmentAnalyze fund performance and key drivers to support accurate final valuations and financial statement outputsRespond to client and stakeholder inquiries in a timely, professional manner, partnering across teams as neededDocument procedures, identify opportunities for additional controls or process improvements, and support implementation where appropriateProvide knowledge transfer and training support to new hires to promote consistent and high-quality execution Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
Bachelor's degree (graduate) or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or a related fieldDemonstrated experience producing or validating NAV and fund accounting deliverables for investment fundsProven attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate books, records, and documentation in a controlled environmentAbility to prioritize and deliver accurately in a deadline-driven production setting, including timely escalation of issuesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, including investigating reconciliation breaks and valuation variancesClear written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to explain issues and resolutions effectivelyClient-focused mindset and ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve queriesProficiency with standard computer applications (e.g., spreadsheet and productivity tools)Initiative to question exceptions, challenge unusual items, and follow through to resolutionFlexibility to work in shifts as required for production coverage Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
10 years of experience in banking, financial services, fund administration, or an accounting firm supporting investment productsProfessional certification or finance-related educational background (e.g., CPA)Experience in an automated, high-volume processing environment with strong process disciplineExperience leading, coaching, or developing team members (formal people management experience preferred)Strong understanding of security types and their accounting/valuation treatment across markets and instrumentsFamiliarity with market data vendor platforms (e.g., Bloomberg) and common market practices impacting valuationsUnderstanding of end-to-end fund servicing operating models, including interactions with custodians and investment managers
