Contract: Permanent, 18.75 hours per week Salary: £12,488 - £13,396 per annum (£24,976 - 26,793 FTE) Location: Sheffield, S7 2PY Closing date: Monday 21st September 2026 Interview date: W/C 28th September 2026 We are recruiting an Adoptions Coordinator for our Rehoming & Fostering team at our rehoming, advice & behaviour unit in Sheffield. This is an important and critical role at Blue Cross ensuring pets in our care are suitably matched with their new owners and rehomed as quickly as possible. Our Sheffield rehoming, advice & behaviour unit is in South Yorkshire which is just a short drive from the beautiful peak district. Our team here are proactively helping the local community in many different ways such as helping people and pets in need with our food bank as well as offering rehoming services for a wide range of pets. We don’t have cattery or kennel facilities so need to be innovative as a team to ensure we can help as many pets as possible, prioritising the most urgent of cases. As an Adoptions Coordinator, you will ensure the adoption process is thorough, efficient and follows internal guidelines, matching assessed pets to new homes as quickly as possible. Working closely with Pet Welfare Assistants and other Adoptions and Admissions Coordinators across the Rehoming and Fostering network, you will be making key decisions proactively managing our pool of homes, matching each pet with the perfect adopter, and providing post adoption support when required. This is a permanent, part-time role working 18.75 hours per week over a two-week rota to include public holidays. Week 1: Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday Week 2: Wednesday and Friday This position can be combined with our current Pet Welfare Assistant vacancy, which is also 18.75 hours per week, to create a standard full-time schedule.
