About this role
The Quality Inspector is responsible for verifying that products, materials, testing activities, and manufacturing processes comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements. This position supports quality inspection and testing activities associated with mechanical snubber testing, materials verification, chemistry testing, tensile testing, radiological hot shop operations, calibration control, and general manufacturing operations. The Quality Inspector works closely with Operations, Engineering, and Laboratory personnel to ensure product quality and compliance. Perform visual, dimensional, and documentation inspections to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, procedures, and customer requirements. Inspect incoming materials, in-process work, and finished products for conformance to applicable requirements. Review and approve manufacturing and testing records, travelers, inspection reports, and certification packages. Witness and document mechanical snubber testing, tensile testing, chemistry verification, and other laboratory activities as required. Support quality oversight of radiological hot shop activities in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions. Verify material traceability throughout receiving, processing, testing, and final shipment activities. Ensure measuring and test equipment is calibrated, properly identified, and maintained in accordance with established requirements. Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials and products. Assist with investigation of nonconformances, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness. Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory assessments. Review customer requirements and provide quality input during contract review and order processing activities. Maintain quality records and inspection documentation for accurate retrieval and retention. Interface with customers, auditors, suppliers, engineering, operations, and laboratory personnel regarding quality-related issues. Promote a strong safety culture and comply with all radiological, environmental, and safety requirements.
