About this role

Job summary

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and motivated Information Governance professional to lead our Information Governance and Records team.

This is a key leadership role within Digital & Data Services, responsible for the operational management and development of the Trust's Information Governance, Records Management, Subject Access Requests and Information Rights functions. You will ensure the Trust maintains compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and NHS standards while supporting the safe, lawful and effective use of information across the organisation.

Working closely with the Trust's Data Protection Officer, SIRO, Caldicott Guardian and senior leaders, you will provide expert advice on information governance, records management, confidentiality, information sharing, data protection and access to information matters. You will lead investigations into information incidents and complaints, oversee information governance assurance activities, and support the development of policies, processes and organisational best practice.

A key element of the role will be leading the Trust's annual Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) submission, ensuring the organisation can demonstrate compliance with national requirements and drive continuous improvement in information governance and cyber assurance standards.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who:

Has significant experience within Information Governance, Records Management, Data Protection, Freedom of Information or Information Rights.

Possesses a strong understanding of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information legislation and NHS information governance requirements.

Has experience leading compliance, audit and assurance programmes, including the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT).

Can provide expert advice on complex governance, confidentiality and information sharing matters.

Has experience managing and developing teams within a busy operational environment.

Can build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.

Is able to analyse complex issues, interpret legislation and develop practical solutions.

Has excellent communication skills and can translate complex requirements into clear and actionable guidance.

Is committed to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality services for patients and staff.

Qualifications Essential

Educated to degree level or equivalent underpinned by theory and experience Highly developed specialist knowledge of legislation relating to information and specialist expertise in the delivery of health informatics Evidence of relevant continued professional development

Post graduate level qualification

Experience Essential

Significant experience working within Records Management and Information Governance at a senior level or specialist advice role Specialist knowledge across Data Protection, Freedom of Information, Caldicott, Records Management and Information Governance in general underpinned by both theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experience Leadership, coaching and management skills within a large diverse organisation Working knowledge of NHS policies and procedures Working knowledge of Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Confidentiality Code of Conduct and associated legislation Experience of Microsoft Office applications and confident in use of a variety of software packages and IT systems Understanding of the culture and accountability of the public sector Understanding and acceptance of NHS accountability and governance Experience of leading and managing teams Experience of documenting processes so that they can be easily understood Experience of presenting highly complex information in an easy to understand format
