Working for our subsidiary company Sparks Teaching Services, you will provide support on a specified module or modules, including the preparation and delivery of Lectures, Workshops and Practical Sessions to Health and Social Care students. This is a zero hour contract with regular working hours to be confirmed at interview stage.

Role Purpose:

As an Associate Lecturer you will provide support on a specified module or modules, including the preparation and delivery of Lectures, Workshops and Practical Sessions.
Main Responsibilities:
Formal scheduled delivery of learning and teaching
Preparation of teaching materials
Assessment and moderation
Curriculum and assessment design as appropriate
Responsibility for administration relevant to the post
Student Support
Independent Studies supervision
Attendance at Meetings e.g. Programme Committees and Subject/Team Meetings
Participation in Continuous Professional Development
Participation in student monitoring and reporting, course review and evaluation process.
Participation in quality assurance and controls procedure
From time-to-time these responsibilities may be reviewed so that they evolve as part of the colleges strategic growth and success. You may also be required to take on other tasks related to the job to support the College in the delivery of its strategic aims, without changing the role's main purpose.
Cross-college Responsibilities
You may be required to participate in cross-college teams and working groups on key projects.
You may need to attend relevant internal committees and groups. This could include preparing and presenting papers as required.
You will act as a role model to colleagues, ensuring that the responsibilities of the post are carried out in line with the Colleges FREDIE values and behaviours.
Student Related Responsibilities
Anyone who has regular contact with children and young people in their day-to-day responsibilities must ensure they are safe. You will work with the Safeguarding Team, ensuring concerns regarding students/apprentices are shared in a timely, accurate manner
You will be involved in supporting college open days, supporting during the exam season, student enrolment and any other required events
Other Responsibilities

Knowledge and Personal Qualities Essential
Knowledge of the discipline being taught Aware of appropriate resources/tools which can enhance teaching Ability to work to deadlines Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to work creatively with young people and adults in a way that engages them in learning Able to demonstrate good communication skills
Qualifications Essential
Level 2 English and Maths Qualification or Equivalent Degree level qualification appropriate to the discipline being taught or equivalent professional experience
Desirable
Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards
Experience Essential
Experience of working in a teaching and learning environment or working in the industry related to the subject area Confident in the use of technology in teaching (interactive whiteboards etc.) Good presentation skills Ability to teach at the appropriate level and relate theory to practice
