Microbiology at SWLP is looking for Specialist Biomedical Scientist (with a minimum of two years Band 5 experience) to join our dynamic, friendly team . You will be deployed in Microbiology at the St George's site. The department offers the latest equipment in the Microbiology field with three Kiestra lines, MALDI-ToF technology, Uri-system, Liaison XLs, EntericBio, BD FX, MGIT, Phoenix and Microscan. There is an automated Serology track system and a specialised Molecular service including high throughput analysers.
The department also offers an extensive screening program for latent TB for the London region.
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a minimum of two years experience working at Band 5 level, with good bacteriology knowledge and experience in addition to excellent problem solving skills.
You will be expected to participate in a 24/7 shift system which includes weekend, night, late and bank holiday working as part of hours.

Qualifications and Training Essential
. An honours degree or equivalent in a biological science . HCPC Registration . Hold the IBMS Specialist Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent experience
Knowledge and Experience Essential
. Proven experience post HCPC registration in the relevant discipline . Excellent working knowledge of specialist subject in relevant discipline . Evidence of continuing professional development . Knowledge of health and safety issues . Experience of quality management systems
Skills and Abilities Essential
