Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Positive Behavioural Analysts with a keen interest in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Autism and SEND to work within our early intervention SEND Mental Health Support Team (MHST). This is a 6 month fixed term contract for a maternity cover.
The SEND MHST delivers evidence-based interventions supporting emotional wellbeing through groups, individual interventions, consultation, and training whilst incorporating a full assessment of need. The aim of the SEND MHST is to support a whole school approach to develop, build, and support emotional well-being.
We are seeking to appoint a Positive Behavioural Analyst who can work flexibly and are committed to the success and delivery of the service. The post is full time; however, part time hours, flexible working, and job share opportunities will be considered. The post is based in Sandridge Gate, St Albans with regular planned travel across Hertfordshire and West Essex.
This role requires you to drive across Hertfordshire and West Essex. You must hold a full valid driving license, and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010). If you do not meet both criteria, it is unlikely that you will be shortlisted for this role.

Main duties of the job
To work in partnership with schools and families to support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.To provide a qualified highly specialist community service to CYP with a SEND need.To provide specialist assessment and intervention using Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support in collaboration with colleagues as appropriate.To undertake assessments, as appropriate, related to difficulties within the MHST remit, to determine the needs of the CYP.To provide training and workshops to schools, parents and staff groups.To function as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary MHSTTo work independently according to a plan agreed with the MHST Operational Lead and Clinical Lead and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.To provide clinical supervision and line management to other MHST colleagues as appropriate.To establish effective and mutually respectful working relationships with care providers on the CYP's pathway including Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services, Child Development Centres, Social Care and Education.To undertake clinically related administration, conduct audits and research projects, collect and analyse service data, develop databases, and to participate in teaching and project work.To actively contribute to the development of the service.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Undergraduate degree in appropriate field Working towards or completed MSc or PG Diploma in Applied Behaviour Analysis and / or Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities or equivalent. Working towards or accredited as a UKBA(Cert) and registered with the UKSBA +/or BCBA +/or BCaBA
Desirable
Further post graduate training in relevant areas of autism, mental health and / or research design and analysis.
Experience Essential
Minimum of 1 year working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and / or an autism spectrum disorder Application of Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support, incl behaviour assessment, development & implementation of PBS plans. Experience of working with individuals who are non-verbal or who have significant communication difficulties. Experience of delivering group interventions or training using a variety of multi-media materials. Attendance and participation at multi disciplinary meetings.
Desirable
Clinical experience in a child learning disability / mental health context Experience of service quality monitoring. Experience of delivering Clinical Supervision and Line Management
Skills Essential
High level of communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to communicate and work in settings in which the atmosphere may be highly emotive, abusive or hostile. Applying understanding of the impact of behaviour to enable effective interventions Practical computing skills including the use of databases and spreadsheets
