About this role

Job summary

The postholder will join a friendly and supportive Financial Services team, working within the Trust Cash Team to help maintain strong financial control across the organisation. You will be responsible for processing financial information in line with established procedures and providing reliable, professional accounting support to ensure the accuracy of the Trust's main exchequer accounts and other areas including patient funds.

To support the cashier functions across the organisation

To contribute to the production of the Trust's annual statutory accounts and carry out tasks related to the annual audit

Main duties of the job

Manage the reconciliation of control accounts within the teamSupport the Trust Treasury Management activitiesManage and support the Senior Finance Assistant, Finance Assistant and Finance Trainee within the Cash TeamEnsure all patient affairs and cashiering tasks are undertaken promptly and accurately, liaise with the service in respect of patients for whom the Trust is corporate appointee.Liaise with cashiers across the Trust providing guidance and support for any cash related issues or queriesSuggest changes to and implement accounting and financial policies and procedures in own areaOversee and supervise the daily activities of colleagues within the cash team (3 direct reports)Ability to work with limited guidance and instruction whilst maintaining professional and organisational standardsProvide a key role in the year end accounting processes

Part qualified or actively studying for a CCAB qualification or AAT qualified

In depth experience in Financial / Management accounting Experience of delivering a professional financial service to finance and budget managers Knowledge of computerised systems Highly detailed knowledge and understanding of accountancy procedures and principles Commitment to ongoing personal development
