About this role

Job summary

We are seeking a part-time care navigator to join our busy friendly reception/administration team, providing high quality of service to our patients. 20 hours per week over 4 days. Must be flexible to cover annual leave and sickness cover.

You will need to be experienced in delivering high standard of customer care, have excellent communication and interpersonaL skills, be able to multi-task, and be a good team player.

Main duties of the job

Your main duties will include greeting patients and visitors to the practice, answering incoming calls ensuring all calls are documented and redirected accordingly. Give clear non-clinical information and signpost patients to approrpriate services, maintaining confidentidentiality at all times. Processing emails and letters onto the clinical system. liasing with the wider multi disciplinary team. Attend and contribute to practice meetings.

Goodheart Surgery is a training practice with approximately 6350 patients based at one site within a purpose built health centre. Our team includes 3 Gp's 1 Gp registrar 2 practice nurses, 1 GP assistant, 1 healtcare assistant and supported by a full admistration and reception team.

Job description Job responsibilities

Greeting patients and handling telephone/email enquiries in a professional and friendly manner.

Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments using the clinical system.

Handling patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

Supporting clinicians with administrative tasks, including medical coding and summarising records.

Maintaining high standards of accuracy when recording patient information and updating clinical system records during reception interactions.

Assisting with home visit requests by capturing relevant patient details and passing the information to GP.

Guiding patients who request private work or forms to the appropriate process and ensuring requests are directed to the correct team.

Supporting seasonal and operational campaigns by assisting with patient bookings and helping coordinate patient flow on the day.

Ensuring reception and waiting areas remain organized, tidy, and presentable, contributing to a positive patient experience.

Adhering to all confidentiality and data protection requirements, safeguarding sensitive information relating to patients, staff, and the practice at all times.

Reporting any equipment or premises issues promptly to management and recording them in line with local processes.

Supporting adherence to fire safety, infection control, and emergency procedures by participating in drills and maintaining required competencies within remit.
