Would you like to make a meaningful difference when it matters most? We are seeking a compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our dedicated hospice team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, person-centred palliative and end-of-life care to patients and vital comfort to their families. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure dignity, comfort, and peace for our patients.
Florence Nightingale Hospice is a 10 bedded unit located in the grounds of Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
The post holder will display a compassionate, empathic approach to the delivery of care to patients admitted for symptom control, review and reassessment and end of life care, providing emotional support to families and carers. Active listening skills and good communication skills are an important aspect of this role, along with the ability to remain calm and resilient under emotional pressure.
Main duties of the job
To provide nursing care to patients receiving Palliative Care under the delegation and supervision of a registered nurse.
We provide a 24/7 service at Florence Nightingale Hospice, and the post holder will be rostered to cover long-days, nights, weekend and bank holiday shifts.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING e.g. Education, professional qualifications Essential
Level 2 or Level 3 (NVQ) in health and Social Care or equivalent relevant experience Willing to work towards Level 2 functional skills (Math & English Care Certificate or working towards
