Opportunities have arisen within the Discharge Lounge at Colchester Hospital for highly motivated Senior Healthcare Support Workers to join the team.
If you have excellent communication skills and a professional manner, then come and join our team in delivering high quality care.
Experience in the health care setting as well as having a NHS Care Certificate is essential.
If you like a challenge, are able to work at a very fast pace, enjoy working with a multi-disciplinary team and can give our patients the dignified care they deserve then this could be the job for you.

Main duties of the job
To meet the direct and indirect care needs of patients under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse To ensure high standards of patient care at all times, in line with Trust policies and guidelines. To work as an effective member of the nursing and wider multi-professional healthcare team. To work within the boundaries of the role of the Senior Healthcare Support Worker and refer to the Registered Nurse as appropriate.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
NHS Care certificate achieved or equivalent Evidence of completed competencies as part of a professional portfolio NVQ level 3 or equivalent
Desirable
Evidence of functional skills or willingness to undertake Willingness to undertake further study
Experience Essential
Proven previous experience in a acute health setting
Desirable
Experience within discharge lounge setting
Knowledge and Skills Essential
Awareness of physical, psychological and spiritual needs of patients relatives and carers. Awareness of the nature of the carers role in assisting patients to fulfil basic human needs Knowledge of clinical procedures and observations Knowledge of relevant legislation

Understanding of risk management, health and safety issues, including safe manual handling.
