Job summary
The Maternity unit are looking for a driven, motivated and cheerful individual to join our ward clerk team on a fixed term basis. We are looking for an individual with experience of administration tasks, experience of working as a ward clerk as well as flexibility to cover a 24/7 service.
The ward clerk team is a small, close knit team of individuals that support the daily running of the maternity unit. The team is friendly and flexible and strive to provide the best experience for the families in our care.
Main duties of the job
Inputting information onto computer systems following the birth of a baby, and all administrative duties linked to this process.
Tracking notes and care plans.
Making appointments for patients.
Ensuring that all discharges are communicated out to either community midwives within the trust, or that of neighbouring maternity units.
Answering the telephone and dealing with queries.
