Job Title: Environmental TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Environmental Technician to join our team at the Chiquita Landfill. This role involves performing general labor and environmental technician duties, including digging and covering trash with dirt, cleaning gas flares, and potentially operating landfill gas recovery systems. The shift is 7am-4pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibility required for weekend workLocation: Santa claritaPay $25 Responsibilities
• Perform general labor tasks, including digging and covering trash with dirt at the landfill. • Clean the inside of gas flares, which burn trash and convert it into gas. • Operate and maintain landfill gas recovery and migration control systems to ensure efficient gas collection and conversion into renewable energy. • Monitor emissions and maintain landfill safety. • Assist the site foremen with tasks as required. Essential Skills
• Experience in site labor and field service. • Comfortable working outdoors for 8-10 hours a day. • Physical ability to perform tasks such as digging and cleaning. • Strong initiative and ability to work independently without constant supervision. • Reliable transportation and a clean driving record. • Computer literacy to a serviceable degree. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Castaic, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
