Job Title: Warehouse OperatorJob DescriptionThe Warehouse Operator plays a key role in supporting daily warehouse operations by accurately picking, preparing, and moving materials to meet production and customer requirements. This position ensures that products are correctly stored, organized, and shipped on time while following established procedures and safety standards within an oil and gas warehouse and logistics center. Responsibilities • Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine items that need to be moved, gathered, or distributed. • Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and correct type of product are selected and loaded. • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code. • Assemble customer orders from stock, stage orders, and convey them to the packing station or shipping department according to order handling procedures or customer pick sheets. • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other powered industrial equipment. • Handle shipping and receiving activities, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments and ensuring proper documentation. • Perform general material handling tasks to support warehouse operations and maintain efficient product flow. • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to move, store, and retrieve materials as required. • Assist with inventory control by accurately tracking, counting, and organizing inventory in designated storage locations. • Use RF scan guns or similar devices to scan, track, and update inventory and shipment information in warehouse systems. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following housekeeping and safety guidelines within the warehouse. Essential Skills • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly during the workday. • Ability to learn and follow proper operation procedures for warehouse equipment, including forklifts and other powered industrial trucks. • Basic understanding of shipping and receiving processes within a warehouse environment. • Material handling skills, including moving, stacking, and staging products and materials. • Forklift operation skills or the ability and willingness to learn safe forklift operation. • Inventory control awareness, including accurate counting and organization of stock. • Ability to use or learn RF scan guns or similar handheld scanning devices for inventory and shipping tasks. • Attention to detail to ensure accurate picking, sorting, and preparation of products for shipment. • Ability to read and interpret production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment is beneficial. • Experience working in an oil and gas warehouse or similar industrial setting is an advantage. • Familiarity with clamp trucks or other specialized warehouse equipment is helpful. • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks such as picking, staging, and loading orders. • Reliability and punctuality to support a fixed daytime work schedule. The work schedule runs from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing a consistent daytime shift. The environment includes typical warehouse conditions, such as working around racks, shelves, bins, and industrial equipment. Warehouse operators regularly use forklifts, clamp trucks, and RF scan guns to move and track materials. The role involves frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and requires adherence to safety procedures and guidelines appropriate for an industrial warehouse setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Schriever, LA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $47840.00/yr.
