Job Title: DesignerJob DescriptionPrepare pipeline, facility, and public improvement plan designs with increasing levels of independence. Develop site plans, plan/profile drawings, alignments, cross-sections, elevations, and construction documentation. Review and interpret survey data, utility locates, environmental reports, geotechnical information, and site plans to support accurate design development. Create, manage, and update drawing packages using AutoCAD, Sheet Set Manager, and X-Ref files. Perform design and permit drawing reviews to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards. Apply knowledge of pipeline stationing, industrial meter sets, tie-in fittings, installation methods, and construction practices. Coordinate and integrate third-party CAD files, survey information, and project documentation. Demonstrate advanced AutoCAD proficiency and a strong understanding of utility and pipeline design principles. Independently complete small to moderately complex design projects while maintaining project standards and deliverables. Build upon Associate Designer responsibilities and contribute to the successful delivery of engineering and construction projects. Essential Skills • Proficiency in AutoCAD and design drafting. • Strong understanding of utility and pipeline design principles. • Experience in distribution design and gas utility design. • Knowledge of environmental regulations and survey plans. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Drafting certification or equivalent work experience. • Experience in the natural gas industry is highly preferred. Work EnvironmentThis position offers 100% remote work with employees located in 19 different states across multiple time zones. The core hours are from 9 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility depending on the candidate's location, ensuring alignment with core business hours for resource accessibility. The culture emphasizes work-life balance, with no overtime expected, and work weeks maintained within a 40-hour bandwidth. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodridge, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $43.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
