Description
Responsibilities: • Designs major mechanical components or major portions of functional systems, technically advanced prototypes, and specific products using computer design and engineering systems. • Generates parts lists and change documentation to support product life cycle maintenance. • Develops or improves products and facilitates manufacturing operations. • Develops data and makes parametric models, layouts, sketches, and notes for design proposals. • Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, obsolescence, and contractual specification requirements and cost. • Adheres to participate in all EHS practices and standards across the site, including but not limited to proactive reporting of observed hazards and recommendations to ensure the safety and well-being of self and others.
Typical Day: Design for obsolescence Update parts lists CAD work-design for new projects Systems engineer and/or other product designers will give engineering drawings to designer to review to put it through engineering release process Reports on progress of design Go through iterations of designs

Additional Skills & Qualifications
MUST HAVES: 1) 5+ years of experience with mechanical product design of small parts and/or large assemblies 2) Experience with SolidEdge/solidworks 3) Sheet Metal (Aluminum) design experience working with high end electronics and applications of sheet metal / complex sheet metal assemblies in aluminum
Nice to Have: 1) Enclosure design 2) Understand RF 3) Digital Experience 4) Electrical experience 5) Experience using a PLM-Teamcenter used internally 6) Experience using an ERP- Dynamics used internally
