Job Title: Construction Project ManagerJob DescriptionThe Construction Project Manager oversees all phases of capital projects in an industrial or manufacturing environment, from initial scope development through installation, commissioning, and final handoff. This role translates approved project objectives into detailed plans, manages contractors and vendors, and ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with site priorities and the annual capital plan. The Construction Project Manager also drives continuous improvement in project execution to support long-term capital investment and operational stability. Responsibilities • Manage all phases of capital projects from concept through commissioning and handoff, ensuring alignment with business objectives and site priorities. • Translate approved Project Objective Memorandums (POMs) into detailed project scopes, schedules, and cost forecasts. • Prepare and issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) to contractors and vendors. • Coordinate vendor selection, evaluate proposals, and support contract negotiation in collaboration with internal stakeholders. • Manage contractor relationships throughout the project lifecycle, including onboarding, coordination, and performance oversight. • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with the annual capital plan and operational needs. • Oversee construction, installation, and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. • Conduct constructability analysis and design reviews to identify risks, optimize solutions, and improve project outcomes. • Coordinate and manage change orders, including scope clarification, cost impacts, and schedule adjustments. • Perform construction inspection and site walks to verify progress, quality, and adherence to project specifications. • Collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, safety, leadership, and external partners to ensure clear communication and issue resolution. • Lead or support factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) to validate equipment performance and project deliverables. • Ensure proper documentation, training, and formal acceptance during project closeout, including turnover of as-built drawings and manuals. • Identify and mitigate project risks, escalating issues as needed and implementing corrective actions. • Coordinate the work of contractors, engineering consultants, and internal teams to ensure effective project execution. • Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and practices to enhance efficiency, safety, and reliability. • Manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and stakeholder expectations. • Support long-term capital planning by providing accurate project updates, forecasts, and lessons learned. Essential Skills • 3–5+ years of end-to-end project management experience in industrial or manufacturing environments. • Demonstrated experience managing construction projects, including planning, execution, and closeout. • Experience managing contractors in a manufacturing or industrial setting. • Hands-on experience with construction management, including construction inspection and constructability analysis. • Proven ability to develop detailed project scopes, schedules, and cost forecasts. • Experience preparing and managing RFPs/RFQs and coordinating vendor and contractor selection. • Strong background in managing change orders and project coordination activities. • Experience conducting or participating in design reviews with engineering and operations teams. • Contract experience related to construction projects and capital investments. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across operations, maintenance, safety, leadership, and external partners. • Ability to work independently on-site and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. • Demonstrated ability to manage risk and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & QualificOur Clientons • Engineering background is preferred. • PMP certification is preferred. • Experience in metals, titanium, or other regulated industries is preferred. • Experience working on capital expenditure (capex) programs or long-term capital plans. • Familiarity with factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT). • Ability to drive continuous improvement in project execution and project management processes. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and project reporting. Work EnvironmentThis role is based on-site in an office environment in Albany, supporting a long-term contract position on a capital expenditure (capex) team. The work is closely tied to an active manufacturing environment, including construction, installation, and commissioning activities. The project portfolio offers a diverse workload with a stable pipeline extending over several years, and you will collaborate with a team that includes multiple long-tenured consultants already engaged on multi-year assignments. The organization is actively upgrading equipment while continuing to fulfill customer commitments, providing a mix of modernization and ongoing production projects. The work environment emphasizes safety, collaboration with operations and maintenance teams, and clear communication with leadership and external partners. The role includes a generous paid time off program, with 15 days of vacation preloaded and reloaded each year, as well as paid company holidays including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, and a floating holiday. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Albany, OR. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
