Regulatory General Training Lead
Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:: Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the RP/Reg Gen/ESHQ departments. This position is responsible for the creation and oversight of a team of skilled trained professionals dealing with the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of training to provide Site employees with the knowledge and skills to perform their jobs safely and competently. Manages training program(s), and is accountable for results of training. Provides direction to ensure compliance with DOE O 426.2B, Manual 4B, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Directs development and implementation of issue resolution for training needs. Provides strategic direction on issues related to training improvement and compliance. May have significant input in the budgeting process for training program(s).
• Manage the training processes, instructional staff, and training coordination activities for assigned training programs.
• Implement and foster the SRNS Standards of Excellence and TEAM approach (trust, empowerment, accurate/open communications, and mutual respect).
• Ensure instructional staff meets the qualification requirements of DOE O 426.2B and Manual 4B.
• Ensure training programs are in compliance with DOE Orders, Manual 4B, and other regulatory requirements.
• Approve training materials for implementation in accordance with Manual 4B.
• Manage Academic Review Boards.
• Prepare and deliver programmatic briefings to customers, auditors, and organizational management, delineating processes, products, milestones and future initiatives.
• Participate on Oral Boards, as applicable.
• Ensure accurate training records are maintained in the Site approved electronic training records database and records repository.
• Designate personnel access to training records.
• Implement continuous improvement via the identification and correction of deficiencies and/or opportunities for improvement in training processes and products.
• Ensure an interactive, team-oriented, customer-focused relationship is fostered/maintained within the staff and between Training and other organizations.
• Meet commitments, milestones, and performance-based incentives.
• Approve offsite training.
• Perform administrative and supervisory functions for a staff of exempt, SOP and/or non-exempt personnel to include:
• develop employee training plans
• establish priorities
• delegate work
• evaluate job performance
• conduct staff meetings
• career development and mentoring
• manage staffing requirements
• maintain administrative records
Required Qualifications: • Eight or more years of experience (YOE) as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed, OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus five or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed, OR Master's Degree in a relevant field plus three or more year of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed • Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered
We'd Also Like to See: • Bachelor’s degree with 10 or more years of relevant experience in education or in the field being instructed - Regulatory & General Training (Rad Worker, Hazardous Energy Control, Respiratory Protection, CPR, Radiological containments, & confined space). • Possess the breadth and depth of knowledge and skills of a Senior Instructor, thinking within broad theories and principles, demonstrating creativity, foresight, and mature technical judgment in solving unprecedented technical problems impacting major Department objectives. • Exceptional knowledge in Site and Facility processes, policies, and procedures is required in order to discuss technical information in a credible manner and answer questions from instructional staff. Exceptional knowledge of the content of lessons, generalizations of concepts, and applications to various jobs in the Facility is required to be able to pinpoint causes of deficiencies in achievement. • Exceptional knowledge of applicable Federal laws, DOE orders, SRNS policies and procedures, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Remain current in their field and are strongly encouraged to continually enhance their technical knowledge and skills. • Ability to be qualified as an Instructional Technologist in accordance with the SRNS Instructional Staff Training Program Description.

Discipline Description: Training personnel develop and present training curriculum and materials for the general workforce and targeted functional/technical areas. They analyze employee learning needs and partner with subject matter experts and business management to provide input for course content. They plan and coordinate skills assessments and training, and they develop and monitor metrics for evaluating training and development effectiveness. Training personnel provide training in various formats, such as classroom settings, via video modules, and via other computer-based formats.
