Job Description: Position Summary The Laser Seal Technician is responsible for performing high-precision hermetic sealing and laser welding operations on critical components. This role requires a meticulous approach to following detailed process instructions to ensure product integrity and reliability. The technician will operate specialized laser equipment, conduct environmental stress testing, and perform precision de-lidding in a fast-paced, high-accountability manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities • Laser Welding & Hermetic Sealing: Perform precision laser welding to create hermetic seals on components, ensuring all seals meet strict vacuum and leak-rate specifications. • Environmental Stress Testing: Execute environmental stress screening (ESS), including thermal cycling and vibration testing, to validate the integrity of the seals and the durability of the components. • Precision De-lidding: Perform machine de-lidding operations to access internal components for inspection, rework, or failure analysis without damaging the substrate. • Process Adherence: Strictly follow written process instructions, engineering drawings, and quality checklists to ensure consistency and compliance with aerospace and defense standards. • Equipment Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate laser welding stations and environmental test chambers; perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on machinery. • Quality Control: Conduct visual inspections and utilize measurement tools to verify weld quality and seal integrity, documenting all results in the manufacturing execution system. Physical Requirements • Ability to stand for extended periods. • Ability to use microscopes and precision hand tools for long durations. • Visual acuity required for the inspection of micro-welds.

Required Skills and Education: • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a precision manufacturing environment, preferably involving laser welding, electronics assembly, or semiconductor packaging. • Technical Skills: Proven ability to operate laser equipment and environmental test chambers. Familiarity with leak detection equipment (e.g., helium leak detectors) is highly preferred. • Attention to Detail: Ability to interpret complex technical manuals and process instructions with zero deviation. • Dexterity: High level of manual dexterity for handling small, fragile components and performing precision alignments. • Adaptability: Ability to maintain high quality and accuracy while working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Preferred Skills and Education: • Certification in laser safety or specialized welding techniques. • Experience working within ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems. • Prior experience with cleanroom protocols and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) prevention.
