Merchandising & Demand Planning Analyst Intern
Job Description: As a Merchandising & Demand Planning Analyst Intern, you will gain a deep understanding of Merchandising, Demand Planning, and Forecasting. You will work closely with Category Leads who develop strategies and deliver business results that impact our customers. This internship will also provide you with the opportunity to develop industry related skills in a professional environment, build your network with Best Buy employees, and explore a wide range of career paths. This internship will be available from June to August 2027. This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. This internship has the potential to lead to a full-time opportunity. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Housing Note: A limited number of company-sponsored summer housing slots are available near corporate headquarters for non-local candidates. What you’ll do
• Merchandising: Analyze category performance and industry trends, and provide business recommendations on assortment, pricing, promotional planning, customer experience, and vendor management; being responsible for the execution of the category strategy initiatives in support of the Category Lead. • Demand Planning: Alignment and execution of inventory purchasing and placement with focus on forecasting, vendor collaboration and inventory investment based on the category strategy. Has direct responsibility for purchasing decisions supporting all channels in partnership with Category Lead. • Understand the aspects of each job and why it is critical to Best Buy's overall performance • Learn how to evaluate inventory health and determine what SKUs are productive or underperforming for your vendor/assigned category Basic qualifications
• Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, graduating between fall 2027 and spring 2028 • Must be able to work in the Richfield, MN corporate office 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday • Must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-5pm (Central Time) • Must be able to commit to the internship start and end date of 5/31/2027- 8/6/2027 • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office suite Preferred qualifications
• Curiosity to learn and understand factors that influence merchandising and demand planning decisions in a retail environment. • Strong analytical skills: comfortable looking at data to identify trends and uncover opportunities. • Ability to work through ambiguity, break down broad problems, and develop practical solutions with limited direction. • Strong communication and collaboration skills. • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn in a fast-paced business environment.
