After-School Athletic Support for Students Pentucket Regional School District Job Details __________________________________________________________________ We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to serve as a support for students participating in Unified sports after school.The ideal candidate will provide encouragement, support, and a safe athletic environment for the student. Qualifications:
• Previous experience working with individuals with special needs, preferably in a sports or physical activity context, is highly desirable.
• Good physical condition and the ability to participate in athletics alongside the student at a pace that is comfortable for them.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and positive feedback.
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a positive attitude in working with individuals with special needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Accompany the student during practices and games, supporting the student and providing encouragement and physical support as needed.
• Monitor the student's physical condition and well-being during activities, ensuring they are safe and comfortable.
• Offer positive reinforcement and motivation to help the student build confidence and enjoy the running experience.
• Work closely with the student and coaches to understand individual needs and preferences and communicate effectively to address any concerns.
• Be flexible and adaptable in response to the student's needs.
• Collaborate with coaches and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to the student's training and participation.
Compensation: $16.00/hour Position Type: Part-time, during the sports season Working Conditions:
• Must be available to run during scheduled practice times and games, which may include early mornings or late afternoons, and/or weekends.
