About this role
We are looking for a Long-Term Substitute Social Worker or Guidance Counselor to join our Counseling Department beginning on or about November 16, 2026 through approximately May 3, 2027. We are looking for highly qualified and experienced candidates with the following assets:
• Valid New York State Social Work or School Guidance Counselor Certification
• Ability to collaborate with other school and community professionals
• Have expertise in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with families.
• Provide counseling when appropriate
• Provide staff with information to better understand factors affecting student's behaviors, and performance
• Expert knowledge in research-based instructional strategies for students with social/emotional needs
• Be an active member of the Crisis Intervention Team/TIG
• Participate in and provide professional development based on Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)
• Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Pupil Personnel
