MSAD #35 Anticipated Food Service Worker - Jerry Burnell Great Works School - School Year 2026-2027 - Start date to be determined The work day is 7:00 am to 2:00 pm (7 hours per day). Position Title: Food Service Worker Department: School Nutrition Reports To: Director of Dining Services and Kitchen Manager Prepared By: Director of Dining Services Reviewed: October 15, 2025 Position Summary: To assist in the preparation and serving of quality food to students in a quick and pleasant manner. Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); previous experience with large-scale cooking and food preparation/serving. Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check eligibility required. Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities outlined below are representative and do not encompass or define all tasks that may be required by this position.
• Assists with quantity food preparation;
• Assists with the cleaning of the kitchen and cafeteria area;
• Assists with the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are met;
• Sets up and breaks down serving lines (salad bar, hot food, ala carte etc.);
• Operates cash register, dishwasher, meat slicer and other food service equipment; and
• Collects money, makes change, completes related reports.
