About this role
Under the direction of Teaching and Learning, this position will promote and strengthen the partnership between families and the Moorhead Area Public Schools through outreach actions and building ongoing communication with students who are in transition with homelessness. Providing collaborative support across programs to best serve MAPS families in transition. Works in partnership and under the direction of the Transitional Student Support Coordinator.
• Provides outreach and support to school Programs in collaboration with the Transitional Student Support Coordinator
• Provides support to families to connect them with appropriate educational services.
• Provides resources and consultation to assist in meeting student needs.
• Provides district-wide support to the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Improvement Act
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and/or any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities as appropriate are required.
• Valid MN/ND driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, education or community health.
• Experience supporting students or families who may be experiencing housing instability, poverty, family crisis, or other barriers to school attendance and success.
• Experience working with children, youth, and/or families in a K–12 educational or community-based setting, specifically individuals experiencing homelessness.
