As a Safety Manager I, you will lead the development and implementation of advanced HSE programs and initiatives within the organization. Your primary focus will be on ensuring regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvement in safety performance, and managing a team of HSE professionals.

As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

Responsibilities: • Lead and support regional HSE teams to ensure consistent implementation of HSE programs across aviation, manufacturing, and office sites. • Develop and implement advanced HSE policies, procedures, and standards aligned with company and regulatory requirements. • Conduct high-level safety and environmental risk assessments; provide expert recommendations for hazard mitigation in diverse operational settings. • Oversee the investigation of serious accidents and incidents, ensuring thorough root-cause analysis and effective corrective actions. • Analyze HSE data to identify trends, systemic issues, and opportunities for continuous improvement. • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, industry partners, and local authorities across multiple states. • Coordinate emergency preparedness and response activities for all supported regional locations. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HSE regulations, as well as company policies and aviation/manufacturing requirements. • Develop and deliver advanced HSE training programs for employees, supervisors, and contractors. • Engage with senior management to strengthen safety culture, drive accountability, and support operational goals.

Qualifications You Must Have: • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field. • 5+ years of experience in HSE or a related safety discipline, preferably in aviation, manufacturing, or multi‑site environments. • Proven experience developing, managing, and improving HSE programs. • Strong knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory requirements. • Demonstrated experience conducting investigations, performing risk assessments, and implementing corrective actions. • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across multiple sites. • Ability to support a positive work environment and promote strong safety culture. • Ability to travel regularly to sites within MD/VA/NC/FL.

Qualifications We Prefer: • Master’s degree in a relevant field. • Experience supporting safety programs in aviation maintenance, aerospace manufacturing, or similar high‑risk operational environments. • Advanced knowledge of hazard identification, mitigation strategies, and multi‑disciplinary safety programs. • Experience working with regulators across multiple states. • Strong capability in training development, program management, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to conduct safety inspections and audits, which may involve walking, climbing, and standing for extended periods. • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs regularly. • Ability to work in various environments, including office, manufacturing, and outdoor settings. • Must be able to work in a team and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. • Ability to travel as required. • Proficiency in using computers and software applications related to HSE.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $85,768.30 - $117,931.40. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
