Shift: Sunday night through Thursday night, 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM

About the Role: The Maintenance Technician (Level B) is a skilled maintenance professional responsible for ensuring production equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this mid-level role, you will focus on maintaining and sustaining critical machinery, minimizing downtime, and supporting consistent product quality. Working in a collaborative team environment, you will apply your technical expertise while continuing to develop advanced maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on a wide range of industrial equipment.
• Maintain mechanical systems including bearings, shafts, pulleys, belts, chains, motors, and gearboxes.
• Service conveyance systems, piping, and utilities (steam, air, water).
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure reliable operation and reduced downtime.
Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution
• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues impacting safety, quality, and production efficiency.
• Identify root causes of mechanical failures and understand related electrical interactions.
• Execute repairs efficiently and communicate findings, corrective actions, and recommendations to maintenance and operations teams.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
• Preventive Maintenance (PM): Perform scheduled inspections, measurements, lubrication, and component replacements.
• Predictive Maintenance (PdM): Use condition-monitoring tools (infrared thermography, oil analysis, basic ultrasonics) to identify early signs of equipment failure.
• Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM): Address issues identified through PM and PdM activities and contribute to refining maintenance job plans.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
• Complete work orders supporting plant initiatives, upgrades, and reliability improvements.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and process enhancements.
• Contribute to initiatives that improve operational efficiency and equipment performance.
Team Collaboration & Development
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure effective execution of work.
• Mentor and support the development of entry-level technicians (Levels C & D).
• Partner with senior technicians (Level A) on more complex tasks, installations, and overhauls.
• Actively contribute to a culture of teamwork, learning, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills
Required Experience
• Strong background in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
• Proven mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Safety Expertise
• Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements, including:
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Confined space entry
• PPE usage
• Hot work procedures
• Powered industrial trucks (PIT)
• Fall protection
• Hoisting and rigging
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Technical Skills
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to select and properly use the right tools for each task.
• Experience using CMMS or basic computer systems to document work and manage parts.
Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Capable of creating simple sketches or notes to communicate maintenance work.
Analytical Ability
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Solid math skills, including measurements, conversions, and basic formulas used in maintenance work.
Preferred Qualifications
• Troubleshooting: Working knowledge of electrical systems to troubleshoot.
• Schematics: Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Fabrication Skills: Welding, machining, or equipment modification experience.
• Advanced Predictive Maintenance: Experience with vibration analysis or advanced diagnostic tools.
• Leadership Experience: Experience mentoring technicians or leading small-scale maintenance efforts.
• 3 years of experience in Maintenance.
