About this role
[What the role is] Coordinate policy development implementation, and regulatory compliance across the mosque sector, with a focus on operational efficiency, safety and security, financial sustainability and effective public communications. [What you will be working on]
• Formulate and review policies, ensuring alignment with current regulations and best practices whilst facilitating stakeholder consultation and implementation.
• Coordinate mass congregational prayer planning to ensure optimal space management and timely communications to stakeholders.
• Oversee mosque emergency preparedness with emphasis on fire safety compliance, ensuring all mosques meet minimum requirements and maintain readiness standards, including facilitating effective communications and reporting of incidents.
• Ensure regulatory adherence through assessment, review, approval facilitation and ongoing compliance monitoring.
• Drive financial sustainability initiatives for the mosque sector, including strategic budgeting, best sourcing of investments and oversight on mosque fundraising initiatives, including requests for fundraising licences.
• Ensure policies, processes and guidelines are properly documented, with periodic reviews and updates conducted.
[What we are looking for]
• Tertiary qualification in Public Administration, Public Policy, Organisational Management, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience, with knowledge and understanding of the not-for-profit sector.
• Experience in policy formulation and familiarity with safety, security or risk management frameworks will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical ability with the capacity to monitor policy developments, standards and best practices and to provide sound recommendations.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven problem-solving capabilities to identify solutions and best practices for diverse stakeholders.
Successful candidate will be appointed on a contract basis.
