Saalex is seeking a Journeyman System and Server Administrator in Point Mugu, CA. Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $90k-$115k annually (depending on experience)
Work Location: Onsite. Point Mugu, CA.
The Journeyman System and Server Administrator supports day‑to‑day system operations across Linux and Windows environments. The role will support a team lead under the Product Team that is responsible for command patching, complex troubleshooting, cybersecurity initiatives, patch management, bash scripting and containerization.
Essential Functions:
Linux & Windows System AdministrationAdminister RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, including user management, system monitoring, and troubleshootingSupport Microsoft Windows Server (2016 or later) and Windows 10/11 client environmentsPerform imaging, provisioning, and lifecycle support for client systems
Cybersecurity & ComplianceApply routine security patches and updates across server and client systemsAssist with vulnerability mitigation and compliance activitiesFollow cybersecurity policies, STIGs, and baseline configurations
Automation & ScriptingDevelop and maintain basic automation scripts using:Bash (Linux)PowerShell (Windows)
Containerization & StorageSupport containerized environments Perform routine Network Attached Storage (NAS) administration and maintenance
Networking FundamentalsApply foundational networking knowledge to troubleshoot high‑volume data transfersSupport network services in coordination with senior engineers Other duties as assigned Requirements
Required:
5+ years of hands‑on system administration experience.Strong experience with both Linux (RHEL) and Microsoft environments.Working knowledge of patching, sustainment, and cybersecurity compliance. Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Security Clearance:
Active Top Secret required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.Benefits
