Description: Job Summary Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with established standards and practices. Responsibilities include patient assessment, development and implementation of individualized plans of care, and ongoing evaluation of patient outcomes. This role requires delivery of high‑quality care in support of the hospital’s mission and commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing from a state‑accredited school (Required)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)

Work Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience (Required)

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• If assigned to a designated stroke unit:

• Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS)

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) (Must be obtained within 2 years of hire)

Essential Functions

• Conducts comprehensive and ongoing patient assessments using a systematic approach.

• Identifies patient needs, issues, and nursing diagnoses based on assessment data.

• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized plans of care with defined outcomes.

• Prioritizes care based on patient condition and needs.

• Coordinates care and ensures continuity across the healthcare team and care settings.

• Implements nursing interventions safely and in a timely manner.

• Documents assessments, interventions, outcomes, and any changes to the care plan accurately and promptly.

• Communicates and collaborates effectively with healthcare providers, patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

• Utilizes appropriate community resources and referrals to support patient care.

• Engages patients and families in care planning, evaluation, and decision‑making.

• Monitors patient responses and modifies plans of care as needed.

• Incorporates evidence‑based practice, quality improvement findings, creativity, and innovation into nursing care.

• Maintains accountability for professional practice and appropriate delegation.

• Advocates for patients, families, and the community with compassion and respect.

• Promotes patient safety through ongoing competency development and teamwork.

• Contributes to a positive and collaborative work environment through shared decision‑making and leadership participation.

• Supports the nursing profession through professional development and organizational involvement.

Additional Duties

• Complies with hospital and departmental attendance, punctuality, and performance standards.

• Performs all duties in alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and core values.

• Completes all required education, training, competency validations, and mandatory in‑services on time.

• Maintains current knowledge and skills related to job responsibilities.

• Attends staff meetings as required.

• Demonstrates competency in providing age‑appropriate, patient‑centered care across populations.

• Uses required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follows safety protocols at all times.
