Amentum is seeking a Tracking Controller (In-Air/In-Water Systems) to join our team on Andros Island, Bahamas to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) mission. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Essential Responsibilities:
• The Tracking Controller is responsible for the management of real-time in-air and in-water range tracking systems and is accountable to the Test Operations Manager on the AUTEC project.
• Manage real-time range tracking systems to meet test operation requirements in an efficient and successful manner.
• Review all relevant test operations’ documents such as operation directives, test plans, pre-test briefings, and unclassified and classified naval messages.
• Coordinate test tracking requirements with down-range site personnel prior/during/posttest support.
• Attend pertinent test meetings including Range Safety briefs, pre-test briefs, test specific planning meetings, and range scheduling meetings.
• Ensure tracking stations in the Real-time Display Center are properly prepared and manned for range testing as required by the Operations Directive and AUTEC Schedule of Operations.
• Maintain real-time logs of all test operations in accordance with established procedures, and oversee supplemental documentation requirements such as deficiency reports and range utilization reports.
• Provide technical evaluation to the duty team of any real-time problem and suggest alternatives for meeting test objectives.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment to meet customer demands in conjunction with keeping company objectives in focus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
• 3 years of relevant experience.
• Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Electronics or equivalent preferred. Three years of military service or commercial experience in a technical field involving large-scale test operations may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
• Must be able to qualify as a Tracking Controller for I/A and I/W Systems in accordance with work-based learning and certification requirements
• Computer literacy in a Windows environment and understanding of Microsoft Outlook email and associated tools is imperative.
• Capacity to manage close vision work on computer screens/monitors.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English required.
• Must be able to walk up/down a one flight stairwell as well as board range craft and fixed/rotary wing aircraft.
• Work independently and as a part of a team with contractor, Range User and Government personnel.
• Aptitude for tactful interaction with a wide variety of military and civilian personnel of various nationalities.
• Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure; remain flexible and professional coping with changes in a real-time environment.
• Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.
• Valid US passport will be required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of various tracking, acoustical and/or communication systems, as well as performance characteristics of US Navy vessels and anti-submarine warfare tactics is preferred.
• Knowledge of AUTEC capabilities is preferred.
