JOB OVERVIEW:

The LOA Manager will oversee the day to day operation of all areas of the Leave and Accommodations department. Primary duties will include ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws, and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy. This position will significantly impact the company's liability by determining the availability of accommodations for both permanent and temporary non-work-related injuries or illnesses. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Manage the Leave of Absence (LOA) programs: FMLA, PLA, Admin, MISC, USERRA, multiple state leave-laws and the accommodations/interactive process. Manage the LOA and RAR (Reasonable Accommodation Request) teams to ensure processes and procedures are being followed. Serve as the subject matter expert for the company regarding leave and accommodation laws. Research federal and state laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Ensure letters and other correspondence are distributed as required by federal/state laws and company procedures. Use independent judgement to make decisions regarding unique, difficult, and/or escalated LOA situations. These decisions significantly impact legal liability, store payroll, and potential worker's compensation costs. Oversee all reasonable accommodations for temporary/permanent restrictions in accordance with the Disability-Reasonable Accommodation policy. Partner with all levels of management to resolve issues related to LOA/RAR and to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to LOA and accommodations. Interviews and select applicants for corporate LOA/RAR positions. Prepare training/educational materials for intranet and conduct training presentations as needed. Recommend policy and procedure changes as needed to increase department efficiency. All other duties as assigned

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field Knowledge of state and federal laws Prior supervisory experience Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and problem-solve Excellent organization skills and attention to detail Desired: 1-year leave of absence experience 2 years’ experience concerning policy and procedure compliance O’Reilly Auto Parts has a proven track record of growth and stability.
