About this role

Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment.

We are looking for a Research Fellow to support and drive excellence in scientific research and technological innovations. The role will focus on sustainable and advanced building technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support research activities

• Support research project management

• Produce research outputs including reports, publications, presentations, etc.

• Coordinate different stakeholders in research projects

• Support research strategic development and securing funding

• Support research data management and documentation

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field

• At least 1 years of relevant experience in scientific research / technical hands-on experience in building energy/power system control & optimisation.

• Familiarity with building energy/power system control & optimisation, building automation and control (BAC) system, Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine-Learning (ML) applications.

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Proficiency in power system modelling, advanced control theory (e.g., model-predictive control, etc.), data-driven modelling and control methods (e.g., reinforcement learning, transfer learning, etc.)

• Proficiency in programming tools and languages, e.g., MatLab, Python, Modelica, C, ForTran, etc.
