Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist in the control room breaking news • Pitch stories and segment ideas regularly • Research topics using the Internet, video archives, and other information sources. • Select strongest possible elements to help best tell stories. • Write, organize, and produce scripts and elements for show and interview segments or packages. • Assist in preparing and executing live, compelling television newscasts. • Keep Executive Producer and Senior Producer apprised of developments of stories. • Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Producer and Senior Producer or network leadership. • Mentor other staff members.
Requirements & Skills:
• Flexibility to work different shifts • Experience producing for a national news program or producing newscasts in a top 10 market • Experience covering politics and government • Strong news judgement • Quick decision maker and creative thinker • Effective coach and mentor to staff of all experience levels • Collaborative team player who advocates for their show but find ways to elevate network reporting • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written • Ability to adapt to change, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously • Proficiency with ENPS Salary Range: $66,300 to 80,000 (per experience) Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
