Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Salad Bar • Ensure that departmental budgets are met through efficient operation of the department. • Create an enticing product presentation daily and provide exceptional customer service to build customer loyalty. • Adhere to store policies and procedures regarding: product quality, product maintenance, ordering, merchandising, product handling and rotation, cleanliness, scheduling, inventory control, financial reporting and signage. • Delegate and prioritize workload. • Assist in the hiring and training of new employees. • Maintain selling area. • Order product from suppliers. • Complete paperwork as needed (includes labour program, recap sheets, weekly gross profit sheets, daily / weekly sales records, weekly invoices, etc.). • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Three (3) to five (5) years experience working in a Produce/Salad Bar department. • Previous management/leadership experience in the retail industry is an asset. • Able to meet needs and demands of customers in a friendly and efficient manner. • Good communication and listening skills. • Knowledge of purchasing, rotation, pricing, quality, service and display of products in relation to gross profit. • In-depth product knowledge and understanding of market trends and consumer habits. • Strong communication and listening skills. • Understanding of gross profit, gross margin and departmental contribution levels. • Previous experience in labour scheduling focusing on wage cost and productivity. • Excellent customer service skill with a talent for building leadership and customer loyalty. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Able to stand for long periods of time and deal with exposure to cold environments. • Strong supervisory and coaching skills with the ability to direct and motivate staff. • Knowledge of computer applications a definite asset (i.e. Microsoft programs, SAP, Periscope, Zebra Handheld, STAS/Persona and Boss).
